Today is 1st of April which signifies the first day of Stress Awareness Month. I feel like stress is something that is often ignored as we all just assume that it’s ‘normal’ to be stressed. However, stress is not something that should be ignored because it can lead to people feeling depressed and anxious. That’s why it’s so important to start talking about stress right now.
During our lives, we encounter a lot of times that we face moments of stress. Maybe we don’t even recognise the stress or maybe the stress simply overwhelms us. No matter what kind of stress you are feeling, it is valid and needs to be spoken about.
If you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel, you will have seen that I recently posted a body update video. I was super nervous to post it but I want to be real with my viewers and readers so you guys know what a struggle my weight loss journey has been so far.
So, if you didn’t know, during 2018, I managed to lose a total of three stone. That’s 42 pounds for anyone who wanted to know. I was so disheartened with that result as I watched people in the gym lose so much more than I did. People like Simon for example. He lost seven stone so he did amazing!
I was there to watch his weight loss journey so I witnessed all the hard work he put in. I feel like I put in a lot of hard work too but I didn’t manage to lose as much. It was frustrating but there’s reasons.
You see, I’m on medication for my mental health and a side effect of said medication is weight gain. On top of that, I have polycystic ovary syndrome. Both of these things make it harder to lose weight.
But moving on from 2018, this is 2019 where we have new goals to smash!
So far this year, all I have managed to do is maintain. That is annoying but I have been on holidays and I haven’t been eating good quality foods.
This is something that will be changing from now on though. I will be eating more fruit, veg and protein. I will be heading to the gym at least three times a week. I want to start reaching my goals.
If you didn’t already know, this year, I am heading to Walt Disney World and I am so excited but also so nervous as I am still overweight. I don’t have too long now before we go so I need to start working harder.
I’m more focused on who I want to be now instead of who I am now. I don’t like who I am now so I’m going to change it.
Back when I used to write on my old blog, I would write this style of post all the time. I think it’s fun to set goals and sharing them with other’s is an extra boost to actually accomplish them.
April is a great month because it’s Simon’s birthday so we will be celebrating by spending the day in Liverpool, doing some shopping and eating ALL THE FOOD!
Get Back Into Using My BuJo
I love journalling. I haven’t actually touched my bullet journal for a while though as my depression has sort of taken over and I don’t have the motivation to do much. This is something that I want to change though. I want to push myself to get more creative again.
Sort Out All My Plushies
If you didn’t already know, Simon and I collect plushies. We have around 500 in total (possibly more) and it’s getting to the point that they are taking over. We have some on the sofa, some on the bed and some in storage. I want to get them under control and find then all a nice home.
Prewrite Some Blog Posts
At the moment, all my posts are being written and posted on the same day. I need to get back into the blogging game and actually have some post for when I’m not around or if I’m in a slump.
Spend Some Quality Time With Simon
As I mentioned, it’s Simon’s birthday in April. I want to make it special for him so we are getting a cake, heading shopping and he will probably buy another build-a-bear while we are in Liverpool. We are also going out for a meal together so that should be lovely!
