The best thing about Animal Crossing: New Horizons is that there’s something new to do every day. As well as those new tasks, you can complete some daily checklist tasks. These tasks will help you make the most of my time on your island. Many of these tasks can be completed everyday so it’s pretty easy to create a routine out of these.
You don’t have to do all of these everyday because you’ll find that some of these work well for your island well but others just don’t work for you. That’s why I love Animal Crossing though. Everyone plays for them and you can play at your own pace. It’s just such a calming game.
There’s plenty of moments in your life where you are doing nothing. I like to call these ‘in-between’ moments. These are the moments when you are ‘in-between’ other things.
We can waste a lot of time with our in-between moments without even realising.
A little way that you can notice how many in-between moments that you have is by tracking the minutes of your day. When I do this, I notice that I take 30 minutes a day just dancing around the room to music, 2 hours scrolling through Twitter, and at least 5 minutes a day waiting for the kettle to boil.
Sometimes we have in-between moments when we are putting off doing something. I could happily reorganise my bookshelves or organise my wardrobe by colour just to avoid responding to emails or tidying.
In our mind, we probably still class this as being productive and in some ways it is. However, there’s other things that we should be doing instead and deep down, we know that.
Crisis survival strategies and skills are all about doing whatever works to help you get through any moment of crisis. They are the skills that you need to help you get through the situation without worsening it.
One way that you can manage a crisis is by calming each of your five senses.
