Valentine's Day Tag (Even Though I Don't Care For It)

I was reading blogs, as I spend the majority of my life doing and one of the posts that I ended up reading was Valentines Day Tag from Hey Little Tulip and it made me want to try the tag too.

Valentine’s Day has never been something that I really cared for but I’m trying to look at it more positively this year.

This year, Valentine’s Day is a day for CELEBRATING MYSELF!

1. What is your favourite Valentine’s Day treat?

Since neither me or Simon actually celebrate Valentine’s Day, I don’t have a favourite ‘treat’. Since I’m focusing on self love this Valentine’s Day, my favourite self care related treat would be eating some snacks and watching a film on Netflix.

2. Love Hearts or chocolate covered strawberries?

I do love Love Hearts but chocolate covered strawberries are the obvious choice for me here. Strawberries are my favourite food so if you add chocolate then I’m definitely going to be choosing that.

3. What is your favourite Valentines Day memory?

I don’t think I’ve ever celebrated Valentine’s Day with anyone who likes the idea of the day. Because of that, there’s not been a Valentine’s Day that particularly sticks out for me. Memory wise, an old friend of mine used to send me a Valentine’s Day card every year and I would send one to her too. It was something that we called ‘friendship day’ and it was actually really nice.

4. What film would you rather watch on Valentines Day, The Notebook or Titanic?

Both of these films are amazing but the last time that I watched The Notebook, I felt sad for about 100 years and never quite got over it. Because of that, I’ll choose Titanic because at least I won’t cry as much.

5. Meal in or Meal out on Valentines Day?

Both of these sound nice. I do like eating out and Simon and I go on a date night out at least once a month but I do love just sitting in the house with Simon, while we watch rubbish TV.

6. What would you do on your perfect Valentine’s Day date?

If I could choose absolutely anything then there’s only one obvious answer. I would be waking up in the morning after a great nights sleep in the Castle Club of the Disneyland hotel and head straight into Disneyland Paris for the day. Ending the day with a meal at Annette’s Diner too of course!

7. Red or Pink lips on Valentine’s Day?

If I’m wearing lipstick then it’s probably purple but I’ll choose red for this one.

8. What is your ideal Valentine’s Day outfit?

My ideal outfit would be a comfy, black dress with patterned tights. I always think that looks super cute!

9. Homemade or store bought gifts?

I’ve always believed that a gift with thought put into it is better than something just grabbed from a shelf. It doesn’t matter if someone bought the gift from a shop or made it with their own hands. If they put effort into the gift then it means the world to me.

10. Hair up or hair down for Valentines date?

I look like a 10 year old with my hair up so hair down of course!

What are your Valentine’s Day plans? Let me know if you do this tag too!

Kawaii Box Unboxing And Review

I was gifted this products for free in return for a blog post and YouTube content. All opinions are my own!

For the longest time, I have wanted to work with Kawaii Box. I have always wanted one of their boxers but I just figured that I couldn’t afford it so I gave up on the idea.

That was until Kawaii Box allowed me to receive one of their boxes to review and unbox for you lovely readers.

I was so excited for this Box to arrive, I had been waiting at the door everyday at post time so that I wouldn’t miss the box.

As soon as the boxes arrived, I was so excited. I rushed to my desk to unbox it straight away!

The box was the Valentine’s Day box which was perfect because I received it a day before Valentine’s Day.

Also, can we just take a minute to talk about the packaging! How effing beautiful is the box?!

I’ll talk a little about each item first.

The first thing that I pulled out the box was a super cute DIY bracelet bead kit. This was adorable and I decided straight away that I was going to make a bracelets as soon as I’d finished this post and edited my YouTube video. Although I’m an adult, I still appreciate a bit of fun so this bead kid was lovely. If you have kids, it would be a fun thing to do together.

The second thing that I noticed was the pink trinket box. This little heart shaped box is just the cutest! I’m going to use it to store any spare craft pieces and buttons. I think it would look super cute on my desk.

I then found some SakuPan panda snacks. I didn’t want to share my snacks with anyone as they were super yummy. I did end up giving one to Simon though and he weirdly didn’t like them. He doesn’t like strawberry flavoured things though and these were strawberry flavoured so that’s to be expected.

Following the super yummy snacks, I pulled out some adorable Pompompurin socks. They are super fluffy and kawaii and I just love them so much. In fact, I am wearing them as I type this.

In the box, there was also a super kawaii Hello Kitty and Pompompurin dish. This dish would be perfect on a bedside table where you can put your watch and rings and anything else you can think of. It would just look the absolute cutest.

Also, there was a lovely cat pass. I think that’s what I’m going to call it. It’s like a pass that ‘professional’ wear on a lanyard and I love it. If you know me, then you’ll know that I love lanyards.

Possibly my least favourite thing (which I still really enjoy) was a pink squishy heart. It is a slow rising squishy which I love and it also comes on a little chain so you can hang it on stuff.

Another thing that I received in the box was a mechanical pencil. It has a little sweet charm on it and although it arrived broken (but I fixed it), I still love it.

One of the other things that I receive were some panda stickers. Simon claimed these straight away and now they are his. He loves stickers a lot (which is odd for a 26 year old man) but ya know..

Lastly, I received a keyring. It has an adorable love heart on it and there’s also too little jars of pixie dust on them.

If you would like to receive your own Kawaii Box then here’s a little giveaway for you.

Valentine’s Day Books ♡ A Collaboration With The Mum Who Read

I’ve wanted to collaborate with another blogger for the longest time. I had just never gotten around to it. But today is the day, the day that I’m collaborating with a fellow blogger.

Today’s post is a collaboration with the very lovely Shannon from The Mum Who Read, so don’t forget to check out her blog too!

We were tossing some ideas back and forth until we eventually decided to write about books and Valentine’s Day. We both love books and romance so it’s the perfect topic.

So, if you’re looking for some romantic, love stories to read, keep on reading..!

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

If you haven’t read this book yet then I just do not know what you’re doing with yourself.

Everything, Everything follows the story of a girl with a disease which means that she can not leave the house without getting ill. When a cute boy moves in next door, she falls in love and it follows their story.

This was a super cute love story with amazing illustrations that made it easy to read. I also thought this book did a fantastic job at balancing the lightheartedness with the more serious stuff.

Noughts And Crosses by Malorie Blackman

Ah, one of my all time favourite books by one of my all time favourite authors.

This book is all about racism and discrimination. Sephy is a cross and Callum is a nought. Noughts and crosses just don’t mix. But can Callum and Sephy find a way to be together?

This book was very hyped when I first read it and now I completely understand why!

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

This book is my favourite by Rainbow Rowell even though I love all of her work. Maybe I’m slightly bias as I share a first name with the main character but ya know.?!

Eleanor & Park follows two characters who have completely different backgrounds. Eleanor is the new girl in town and Park is a quiet, cool kid (in Eleanor’s eyes anyway). Over time, they begin to fall in love.

The book has very mixed reviews but for me, it’s perfect. I loved the characters and I loved their little love story.

What books do you plan on reading this Valentine’s Day?
